Orange Shirt Day at The 519

Join us on Tuesday, September 29, from 3:00 p.m. onward for an afternoon of activities, panel discussions, conversation, traditional foods, and an art gallery reflecting the ongoing legacy of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This intergenerational gathering will include a Sacred Fire and opportunities for storytelling and learning with Traditional Teachers and Knowledge Keepers.

The Ontario HIV Treatment Network and The 519 have partnered to support this event, which is led by Traditional Knowledge Keepers. Together, we recognize the ongoing need to build and nurture relationships, and to live in right relationship with Indigenous communities across Turtle Island as treaty people.

This gathering is intended to build connections across generations by making knowledge, food, activities, and learning opportunities accessible to all.

To help us prepare, please let us know of any accessibility accommodations, dietary needs, or food allergies you would like us to be aware of. A detailed itinerary will be shared in advance of the event. While this is a drop-in gathering and participants are welcome to attend at any time, providing this information ahead of time will help us support your participation.
